come on angel, see that you love me and
nothing will ever scare me again
take me to where the skies are blue.
The new year had not started out on the foot that she had wanted. There were too many emotions going through her head that she wasn’t quite sure which ones were real and which ones were forced. One part of her wanted to give up while the other wanted to put up a fight. In the end, she gave up and decided it was not worth the tears.
The salle had been one of the few places that she could release her emotions without hurting someone. It was bad enough that she had lost a good friend due to the misuse of her gift, but she wasn’t quite sure what she would do with herself if she lost someone else. Shrugging off the faux suede coat that seemed to consume her body, Kendra moved through the building with ease. By the time she made it to the other end, she had shed her outer garments and stood barefooted in a simple pair of breeches and tunic. Hair was pulled back into a french twist, her rapier dangling from her right hip.
~Alazne? I want to do this alone tonight if that is okay with you.~
Chin elevated just a bit as she struggled to hear the words that echoed within her head. The only thing that seemed to keep her sanity was the bond she shared with her dragon; he is her heart and soul. ~Be careful, little one. I don’t want anything to happen to you.~ With the last word he retreated from her mind and left her to her thoughts. Sighing, she’d unbuckle the belt and grip the hilt of the rapier, pulling it from the sheath as the entire ensemble fell to the ground. Nudging it aside, she’d bow to the one guard that had graciously agreed to train with her.
