Star had gone the day after her wedding to create an 'early warning' of sorts. Magical defenses that would sound an alert when anyone passed thru them. A large crystal in the Keep would alert them as to who was approaching and if they should set up the defenses Jamie had set in place.
She centered and drew upon the nearby node to create the 'veil
of magic that was so light and thin, that even a creature sensitive to magic would hardly notice it. But it was strong enough to determine what kind of creature passed. A small tone would emit from the crystal in the keep, alerting the occupants to a 'visitor'. The weave was almost like a gauzy cloth, but was totally unseen of course.
She then connected the crystal to the 'veil' and linked the entire thing to the node she had used to create it. She then sat on a rock to rest and catch her breath. Granted the node provided the power, but she had to provide the control. She then nodded at her work and moved to return to the keep for some lunch.
