Marie had taken the history class and found any number of things rather useful. Not useful in a sense of her magic, however it did bring about a better understanding of the loyalties to the kingdom. The quiet steps had threaded their way through the halls as she kept the sketch book close to her. Unlike many within the collegium, she did not wear the grays nor any of the other garments of those that studied here. Instead the mage dressed herself in the dull unassuming browns.
The one thing that had drawn her attention unlike anything else within this kingdom.. well besides the promise of studying.. was the field in which the Companions resided. She held no sort of delusional hope that she would be elected to serve as anything more then an outlander here. To be honest, with all that she had going on back home, it would merely be foolish to attempt anything more. The young woman took the time however for a frivolous hobby of hers.
The seat was taken in the grass near one of the fences as she looked out over the field, the sketchbook settled on her legs as she withdrew the small collection of charcoals from a pouch. There was an elegance to the Companions.. the strong muscular forms as the winter sunlight bore down upon the pristine white coats. The pale blue eyes studied them with the mere enjoyment of it.
Much like she had in the class, the hand began to move while her eyes remained locked upon the subject out within the field. The smooth graceful lines began to slowly consume the paper. She was oblivious while doing this to any that passed her. Just for a while she was merely Marie.. not mage, not marchioness, just someone who liked to draw.

Ellian came up behind Marie at the Field. He had come to visit his own Companion, Kaelin. He glanced at the work and smiled.
"Very talented, Marie. They are marvelous subjects arent they? Such power and beauty. Are you finding things alright here? Not too much or too little is there?"
He stood with one foot on the fence, watching the Companions with her.

The little mage looked up to the voice as she offered a small smile. " Thank you , Headmaster. " the small dip of her head was taken before she looked out again to the field. " They are magnificent. I have read some things on them, but I can assure you that not even the sketches within the books come close to what they appear in person. " She answered quietly as she paused a moment in her own drawing.
" And yes sir, I am finding things easily enough. Though I fear I am missing some of the classes due to the duties I have back home. " She admitted with a little sigh. To set them all aside and focus only on the classes and homework? She would be in heaven..though life did not work as wishes willed them to. " I do admit though by watching them , I miss Firefly and Eldin. Neither are so graceful .. but companions of the heart none the less. " She grinned a bit brighter at the thought of the warhorse and badger.

"Perhaps you can introduce me to them sometime." He smiled and gave a whistle. At that signal, one Companion detatched himself from the others and came trotting over. Ellian stroked the mane and rubbed his forehead. "This is Kaelin. He is my Companion. He has helped me out a lot. Kaelin, this is Marie."
The great stallion lowered his head in greeting to the mage and whuffed her hair a bit. He was built for fighting and speed. Muscles were easily seen and he was quite a looker with those beautiful blue eyes. He whickered and then pushed at Ellian's chest.
Ellian smiled and stroked the neck of the Companion. "I understand how duty comes first. If you have some problems, or questions, just ask me. I will do what I can to help."
(Since some of my aim logs didnt work, I am missing some classes I thought I had.... so cant promise I will always have notes.)

Marie smiled and gave a little nod " I'm not entirely sure how I'd convince Firefly through the gate.. he's still a bit magic shy at times. And Eldin.. well.. so long as you don't get offended easily. He does have a manner in which can be viewed as offensive." Then again he was a badger, it was his job to be cantankerous. She turned her eyes upward to look at the Companion that had joined them. The snuffle to her hair was greeted with a warm light laughter as she pulled away a bit.
The pale blue of her own eyes met with the intelligent blues of the horse. While she knew that not in a million years would she be able to bring her own stable of warhorses to that sort of intelligence.. it was absolutely something she'd strive for.
" I don't mind the responsibilities.. sometimes I wish I knew more of what I was doing.. but I've good people around me. " She admitted with a grin. " I thank you for all the help you have already given me. I only hope that I do not turn out to be a disappointment. "
< understandable hun, if anything I'll try to email some of the instructors or try to get in touch with them here on the mb. and work things out that way. >

He smiled to the lady and gave a friendly wink. "Disappointment? I dont think so. And warhorses? Perhaps sometime you can discuss them with the queen. She has quite a stable and has been working on a breed of warhorses herself. I wager she would love to talk horse breeding with you."
He looked over the picture again. "Perhaps you would do a portrait of myself and Aine sometime?"

The young woman chuckled quietly " I would enjoy the conversation with her Majesty. I am rather new to the stabling bit. " She admited with a small face. She was trying.. thankfully those of her village knew more about them then she did! " You have but to ask it, I would be more then happy to sketch for you and your lady. " she gave a little nod.
