Pact of Blood

A soft breeze blew through an open window in the healers wing off Golden Horn Castle, gently moving aside the curtains to let sunlight pour in. The soft beams fell upon the face of one of those who currently occupied the beds in that part of the castle.

The man's eyelids fluttered, then lifted up, stone-grey irises gazing into the light for a moment before an arm came up, blocking the light so his vision could adjust. The knight slowly sat up in the bed, looking around for aa moment before realizing where he was. He then looked down at his bare chest, seeing deep bruises and healing scratches on his chest and stomach.

As he sat on the bed, his gaze then lowered, falling upon his bare chest. Deep bruises and healing cuts covered the tan skin of his upper body, muscles rippling beneath the skin, pain marking the protestations of said muscles as the knight went to sit on the edge of the bed.

It was then he remembered the battle, images flashing before his eyes, as though he was there once more. The deathly cold, the shrieking ghouls and cackling skeletons, the fire of hiss sword as it cut and burned the hollow shells of the damn as he tried to keep them from entering the throne room.

His memories then became a jumble, bits and pieces, showing the death knights, them being felled by the party's efforts. They then skipped forward again, showing Anduin, as the Lich's shields failed him, lunging forward with his sword, burying it into the dark wizard's chest. After that, everything became a blur, Anduin shaking his head as he opened his eyes, and looked around, seeing if anyone was nearby.

TrinityFlareX [1:37 P.M.]: Gods she had been waiting for Shuku to bring that damn drug, how ever did she actually stay hidden or asleep with Lina there? In truth she had gotten up long before the dragon came by to visit Anduin, it was just a feeling she had to get up and leave before Lina came by though she was still weak the samurai had made it to the lounge where she sat by the fireplace. She had waited until she felt the aura leave, getting up as she used her sword sheathed to help her walk. Yes she was that weakened she needed something to lean on and hated it. She did not need the dragon to see that nor see the dragon as wounds had been so torn open that people couldn't see. Pushing the door open, then closing it after she got in with a glance over towards the knight and moved to sit across from him on her bed. "I see you're awake finally." [d]


"Anduin" [1:41 P.M.]: The knight had had his eyes closed, his mind still reeling as from the earlier conversation with Lina. When he heard Riley's voice, he quickly sat up, despite the slight pain it cost him to do so. The knight's midnight-black hair fell to his shoulders, through a few strands fell over his one eyes as they locked onto Riley, a warm smile on his face as he looked her over, speaking as he put his hands on either side of him, to prop up his upper body, " Riley! You are alright! "


TrinityFlareX [1:45 P.M.]: "No thanks for priestess' trying their new rez on me." She scoffed, oh lords when Arb got back cause he surely felt it all happened he was going to be pissed off at Damali. "Anduin... what am I? Fae or wolf?" She wanted to see who truly knew her. [d]


"Anduin" [1:48 P.M.]: Anduin looked at her curiously, the smile fading slightly as his eyes locked onto her. He pondered her question for a long moment, thinking very carefully before he spoke" Well...I always thought you were a wolf...but then you told me you lost the wolf and were completely fae...Riley, what is going on? What happened after I went unconscious?"


TrinityFlareX [1:50 P.M.]: "That attack I took, it burned away my soul, more or less pushed it out of my body torn and shattered... I was simply an empty shell. It seemed that it bothered the people here, Damali attempted to -rezz- me. She pulled my wolf that was resting with Gaia." She grimaced, gods her body ached still from being mortal and rolled her shoulders to try and shrug it off. [d]


"Anduin" [1:51 P.M.]: Anduin's eyes widened as Riley told him what happened to her. When she finished, the knight's smile faded completely, a solemn look appearing as he lowered his gaze from her, his shoulders becoming hunched as he spoke, " I couldn't protect you...I'm sorry..."


TrinityFlareX [1:54 P.M.]: "I put myself in harms way, Anduin. I got mind controled by the lich, I couldn't take that blast without injuring myself severely... don't worry about it. I decided when they finally fixed me and put the right soul in me thanks to Kayla Liam, I aksed Cyrus to be my teacher in the arcane arts. I can fight by sword and fist but my knowledge in magic is weak and therefore... I have a severe weakness to it." She moved over to sit by him as she leaned into him. "Gods... I freaked when I felt mortal again, old wounds shattered open. And even had a Angel of Death looming over me waiting to take my wolf soul. Remind people i yer awake next time... if they're rezzing me and actually take a wound from my spiritual self... to stop and think -why- I am fighting them." She huffed. "So focused on their task they never listen to the signs.. what in the name of Gaia are they teaching these healers?" [d]


"Anduin" [1:57 P.M.]: Anduin nodded slowly, looking at Riley as she sat down next to him, wondering how much it her her to do that. He went very still as she leaned into him, watching her carefully as she spoke. When she finished speaking, he spoke, his face without emotion as he looked at her, his hands still on the bed, his entire body as still as stone, " Riley...I found out something this morning..."


TrinityFlareX [2:00 P.M.]: "What is that?" She blinked a moment sitting up as it seemed he was a bit tense when she leaned and used a hand to rub her lower back as she still felt the old wolf but would get better gradually. [d]


"Anduin" [2:01 P.M.]: He watched her as she rubbed her lower back, noting the state her body was in as he contemplated telling her what Lina had told him. He struggled with it for a few agonizing moments before finally, reluctantly, he spoke again, his eyes locked onto her face, " I...killed Magus' unborn child..."


TrinityFlareX [2:08 P.M.]: She blinked, frozen as she heard his words and closed her eyes slowly. "I'm sorry she let you know that, don't let it eat away at you Anduin. You can rightly correct taking a life by giving life inside Wren after your marriage. I swear... that dragon needs to learn those around her better." She could tell that information crushed Anduin and would haunt him like everything else during his death phase. She lifted her hand to set on his shoulder as she smiled to him. [d]


"Anduin" [2:09 P.M.]: Anduin shook his head, not wanting to be touched right now, though he let her put her hand on his shoulder, needing the comfort as he warred within himself, his voice soft as he spoke, " I am regretful, yes, but that is not what is troubling me..."


TrinityFlareX [2:10 P.M.]: "And what troubles you? It seems I am missing something rather vital." [d]


"Anduin" [2:11 P.M.]: Anduin looked at her, his eyes having a haunted look to them as he spoke again, wondering what her response would be, " What troubles me...is that I am tempted to tell Magus this..."


TrinityFlareX [2:17 P.M.]: Once he said that her hand swiftly moved and slapped him upside the head. "Don't you dare, if I have to I will remove that memory from you tokeep you from even uttering that thought again, Anduin. I will not lose you because of what Gelina Gray decided to confess. Your death will prove nothing at this moment in his stop of obliterating anything in his path if anything it will give him fuel." [d]


"Anduin" [2:18 P.M.]: Anduin winced in pain as she slapped him, though, at her threat of removing his memory, he got off the bed, glaring down at her as he spoke, his voice suddenly full of anger, " Do not touch me in that manner again, Riley, for you have no right to do so. And removing my memory? My mind is my own, not something for you to take things from! " Anduins chest heaved as he glared at her, taking a moment before calming himself down before speaking again, " And I would have found eventually, Riley..."


TrinityFlareX [2:24 P.M.]: She sighed looking down at her hands. "Heh, if only you knew but anyhow... sit, calm down a rest. I won't smack you again unless you decide to run off and tell this to Magus then I will chain you down to keep you alive. Thats what friends do, protect them from even themselves. -sw- That is what I always do." She sighed, no she'd never reveal she could remove a memory though while he was awake and guard up she couldn't snatch it away. [d]


"Anduin" [2:29 P.M.]: Anduin slowly sat down, a solemn look on his face, watching her carefully as to make sure she would not smack him as he spoke, " Well, I doubt he would even care..."

TrinityFlareX [2:34 P.M.]: "Do not throw your own worth away so lightly, I treasure you alot like Wren does though not to her magnitude so don't give me that look. If you are going to be so depressed that you could not protect me and don't like it when I hit you upside the head like you need once in a while.. I say we form a pact." She looked over to him watching and waiting for his reaction.

MobiusDarkS (9:44:34 PM): Anduin watched her carefully, taking a moment to compreheand her words. After a few moments, he lifted his hand to move aside a few strands of hair, then spoke, stone-gray hues focused on the woman beside him, " A pact? What kind of pact? "


TrinityFlareX (9:46:50 PM): "A blood pact, where we shall train together and fight forever beside each other and should one of us be manipulated by one we shall not turn on each other. Once our blades would touch with harmful intent and not practice we wil repel each other away. So if anyone must do us in it will be someone else." [d]


MobiusDarkS (9:50:36 PM): Anduin thought long and hard at her words, a frown of thought appearing on the knight's lips. He was uncertain at first, but soon, after a few long moments, he finally spoke, a small smile on his face as he did so, "Alright. I will do it. So tell me, how does one perform the binding? "


TrinityFlareX (9:52:45 PM): "Well... blood basically, it is rather simple no words need be spoken just our friendship is the key. As long as our friendship is strong and is not shattered we shall never had to worry." She smiled. "And it has to be on both sides, just cause one might disown the other doesn't work." [d]


MobiusDarkS (9:55:26 PM): Anduin nodded slowly as he took in her words, then spoke again, his face solemn as he watched her, " Alright. But, before we do this. I need to know...did you ever take any memories from me?"


TrinityFlareX (9:56:21 PM): She grimaced a bit. "Why do you want to know?" Damnit she thought she could avoid that but she frowned a bit placing her hand in her lap. [d]


MobiusDarkS (9:57:55 PM): Anduin noticed the grimace on her face, and pressed the issue, " Well, before you said you would take away the memory of Gelina telling me about magus' child, so that made me wonder why you would say such a thing... unless you have done it before..."


TrinityFlareX (10:00:45 PM): "I only did it once and in truth I haven't been able to do it since. Please do not over react or hate me.. you helped me when I needed it the most, I could not stay and I did not want you regretting it. You are happy with Wren, and I am happy with Arb. My power was too raw, I acted in haste and will never do so again unless someone asks me to. Promise me... " She looked to him sincereity in those golden eyes. [d]


MobiusDarkS (10:02:15 PM): Anduin nodded, though a look of surprise was on his face, then his eyes narrowed as he crossed his arms over his chest as he spoke, " What did I do?"


TrinityFlareX (10:03:36 PM): She sighed, called that little bubble to her hands as she let the globe hold within her hands as she held it before him. "If after you view it you wish to have it restored back then so be i, if not it will remain within this and you will forget again in an hour." She let him see the memory she took. [d]


MobiusDarkS (10:07:42 PM): Anduin listened as she spoke, one hand reaching out to grasp the orb in his hands. As he looked into it, the memories came back in a rush, and, after a few moments, looked at Riley a blush on his face as he spoke, " So we..."


TrinityFlareX (10:09:01 PM): She nodded gently seeing his blush as she sighed. "Dont look at me like that.. see that is why I took it otherwise you'd keep remembering, and feel akward around me. I don't want that, I want you comfortable around me." She hoped he wouldn't be too angry. [d]


MobiusDarkS (10:14:24 PM): Anduin waited for the blush to subside, then, most likely to her surprise, started to chuckle, holding the orb in her hand. After a few minutes, he smiled at her as he spoke, " Do not worry. I am not mad. And...I am actually grateful you took this from me..." But his face turned solemn as he spoke again" But, do not ever take away any of my memories. Alright?"


TrinityFlareX (10:16:52 PM): "Like I said.. I can't unless the person is willing.. so I can't take any from you unless you tell me to." She smiled gently taking the orb as she let it return back to her shelf where she kept precious things. "Besides you probably can see why I took this, so do you still want to do the pact?" [d]


MobiusDarkS (10:34:37 PM): Anduin thought for a moment, then nodded slowly, a warm smile forming on his face as he spoke, " Sure, let's do this..."


TrinityFlareX (10:37:37 PM): She moved over to grab a knife as she cut her hand and offered him the knife. "Make one in the opposite hand and same pattern so they mirror each other. [d]


MobiusDarkS (10:39:02 PM): Anduin nodded, then grabbd the knife from Riley. After a momen'ts hesitation, Anduin cut his hand with the knife, digging the same pattern into his flesh. He then looked at Riley as he spoke, " Ok, now what?"


TrinityFlareX (10:39:27 PM): "We shake firm, our blood mingles and its done."


MobiusDarkS (10:41:03 PM): The knight nodded slowly, then held his hand out to Riley, blood dripping from his hand onto the floor as he waited for her to grasp his hand, thus sealing the pact.


TrinityFlareX (10:42:07 PM): She clasped it into his the magic seemed to dance around their hands then it faded as the wounds healed.


MobiusDarkS (10:58:11 PM): Anduin looked at their hands as he felt the magic dance between them. After seeing the wounds heal, he smiled warmly at Riley, then spoke, " Well, now we are bound..."


TrinityFlareX (11:01:26 PM): "Yeah, I never was one for big stuff. On other news I have a cousin coming to Horn you might like him."


MobiusDarkS (11:01:48 PM): "Really? What is his name?"

TrinityFlareX (11:02:57 PM): "Stephen O'Hanney, he is a knight from Ireland. Not by blood mind you but I met him when he was a young boy during the war when I had to unfortuantely set his monarchy straight."


MobiusDarkS (11:03:47 PM): Anduin nodded slowly, a smirk forming on his lips as he spoke again, " Well, a knight hmm? Should be an interesting welcome..."

TrinityFlareX (11:04:10 PM): "Yeah, he's only human but he breeds horses."

MobiusDarkS (11:05:09 PM): Anduin chuckled at Riley's words, then spoke once again, "Oh Riley, you wound me so...I am only human too, unless you think me otherwise?"

TrinityFlareX (11:05:38 PM): "I meant by human being he.. well he's never had to face such things like he will here.. and the things he will see... I pray Gaia forgive me this world will corrupt his mind. And I do NOT think you human Anduin, lords no... never saw you as such, you're my friend. And someone I do enjoy spars with."


MobiusDarkS (11:10:46 PM): Anduin chuckled more so as he spoke, looking at Riley curiously, " Oh but I am human Riley. I live, and I die. I bleed, and I love, as a mortal man..."


TrinityFlareX (11:14:18 PM): She sighed. "Good, when I was mortal I would now be dead and in the grave."

MobiusDarkS (11:16:34 PM): Anduin nodded slowly as he spoke, " I have felt that experience...close calls, on too many an occassion..."


TrinityFlareX (11:17:44 PM): "He's still.. a kid.. at least to me he is."

MobiusDarkS (11:18:14 PM): Anduin nods slowly, a solemn look on is face, " I would be honored to watch over the lad when you are not around..."


TrinityFlareX (11:18:46 PM): "Thank you." She got up and hugged him tightly.


MobiusDarkS (11:19:34 PM): Anduin returned the hug, though careful of her, making sure he didnt touch any part of her that still hurt
